The
Travel Assistant was designed to be used both inside and
outside of the vehicle. It provides a variety of information
and functions including yellow pages, route planning,
route guidance, and logging functions. The individual
functions are integrated to allow the user to make quick
and easy choices and decisions. As shown below on the
left, the user has selected a restaurant from the yellow
pages. On the right, a detail is displayed that allows
the user to plan a route to the restaurant, view a map,
or dial the in-vehicle cellular phone.
