OACIS'
approach to design is system-oriented and user-centered. It
almost always begins with a careful analysis of the requirements
for all users. These include not only end-users but
designers, implementers and future maintainers. This initial
analysis creates a foundation for ensuring a successful integration
of the product into its job or task environment.
A crucial
component of this approach is cost effective user-based evaluations.
These evaluations are performed throughout the design process.
They provide continuing checks and balances on both the requirements
and the design.
My
approach to design is flexible and highly customizable.
You can pick and choose from among several design activities
in order to meet specific project requirements. This process
is fully explained in the document OACIS' Approach
to User Interface Design. You can download a copy of
this document from the Process
menu item shown at the top of this page.
